Why Greece
The History:
Greece has a very long and glorious history. There are reminders of its ancient history all over the country. Its monuments and statues attract tourists from all over the world who want to see where the culture which inspired democracy, theatre, philosophy and the Olympic Games began.
More importantly the Greek language was adopted by many other European languages and particularly English. This is why Greece has such an important relationship with English language teaching.
Modern Greece:
Greece attracts over 10 million travelers every year, inspiring them with its beautiful landscapes, beaches and sunshine. As Greeks are famous for their hospitality and their peacefulness as a people, visitors often find it difficult to leave the safety and warmth of Greece. In addition, the Greeks are also famous for their sociable nature and many people arrive to engage in the lively social scene it is famous for.

Why Patra
Patras is Greece's 3 rd major city and is the principal port for boats traveling to and from Italy and the Ionian islands. In addition it is a centre of learning as it hosts some of the country's finest educational institutions and academies. One is immediately struck by the number of young people living in the area who come to complete their higher education here and to experience the nightlife. Because of its youthfulness, Patras changes with the times and has plenty to offer to the adventurous and social amongst us. Watersports, cafe bars and shopping opportunities are in abundance.
Patras has also been chosen as European City of Culture 2006 and is the perfect choice as it hosts the world's second largest non-commercial carnival annually. Furthermore it is situated close to the ancient cities of both Olympia and Delphi (to name but a few) birthplaces of Ancient Greek culture and mythology. The Ionian Islands (popular tourist spots) which include Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Corfu are similarly within easy reach.
